So today I was reading post on my Facebook page when I stumbled across a post by National Geographic about a documentary on a secret project called the OXCART project. This was a secret military project to build a successor to the U-2 spy plane. This project took place during the 1950’ s-1960. The thing is that it was a game of cat and mouse. The secret American aircraft was kept at the non-existent Military base Area 51. Area 51 is most commonly known for aliens and UFOs but it is really a base where secret and experimental military aircraft are kept ad tested. Over the years people used to think that the A-12 was a UFO due to is triangular shaped body. This craft was in service from 1963 to 1968. The OXCART was later replaced by the well-known SR-71 Blackbird. I would love to be in this situation one day.
